Together, we can offer them a fresh start and the encouragement they need on their journey.

Volunteer Application

The link above will take you directly to the Volunteer Application. We have specific needs for volunteers in the following areas:

Grow and Gather:
Host a private event with 5-10 friends or family members, where we may share our mission and vision with the group. This is not a fundraiser! Learn about trafficking issues in our community, how The Upper Room is fighting this problem, and how you can help.
Become an Advocate:
The Upper Room Advocates are people who would like to help women coming out of trafficking to navigate through becoming independent. Advocates aid in filling out benefit applications, job applications, school applications, finding daycare, and so much more. Our advocates can plan to volunteer up to 5 hours a week.
Office Helper:
At times, The Upper Room may need assistance in the office, making phone calls, filing, creating outreach materials, and preparing materials for training and events.
Childcare:
We offer classes and times for The Upper Room clients to gather for classes or group activities two to three nights a week. During this time, we want the clients to be able to concentrate and participate. Thus, we would need volunteers to provide childcare in the house for one to two hours.

Transportation:
For the clients in The Upper Room, transportation may be needed for job interviews, medical appointments, mental health appointments, and other essential appointments. We encourage the clients to find their transportation, but sometimes, the need for a ride arises.
Respite Care Providers:
Volunteers can enter a care role when staff cannot be at the house. This could be an overnight shift from 8:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. A bed and special training will be provided for this volunteer. Staff may also use respite care hours to attend essential personal appointments or rest.
Event Support:
Volunteers that will help set up or take down for fundraising, community outreach, or church events.
